RUKSIN, 15 Jun: Members of the Ideal Sisang Angong Sirum (ISAS) and Young-Star Team of Debing village in East Siang district on Monday conducted a cleaning and plantation programme at the Govt UPS in Debing.

The volunteers, led by ISAS president Sotyoban Ering, cleaned up weeds, littered plastic waste and garbage around the primary school.

They also planted 100 tree saplings of different varieties in and around the school premises.

Joining the drive, Debing UPS head teacher Bakin Moyong urged local villagers to look after the planted seedlings and take responsibility to protect them from stray animals.

Eminent persons of the locality, including GPMTakeb Rukbo, LPS teacher Osek Apum, social worker Tadang Jomang, local businessman Kebom Taku and police constable Johny Taku joined the cleaning and plantation programme and helped the youth volunteers by providing food and machineries during the drive.
