ITANAGAR, 30 Jun: The All Lower Siang District Law Students’ Union (ALSDLSU) has lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), alleging large-scale corruption and financial irregularities in the implementation of the 132 kv transmission line project in Kangku circle in Lower Siang district.
In its complaint letter submitted to the ACB SP, the union, on behalf of the affected customary landowners from Balisori to Kamcham villages in Kangku circle, alleged commission of serious offences, including large-scale corruption, criminal conspiracy, fraudulent compensation claims and disbursement, abuse of official position, fabrication and manipulation of beneficiary records, and misappropriation of public fund.
The union urged the SP to register an FIR against those named in the complaint, conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, identify every individual involved in the alleged corruption, recover any wrongfully disbursed public funds, and take strict action against those found responsible.
The union also sought a fresh joint survey, lawful assessment, and fair compensation for genuine and deprived landowners.
The union clarified that the complaint has been filed in the larger public interest to ensure transparency in public projects and protect genuine beneficiaries.
