I would like to draw the attention of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and the Education Department to two issues vis-à-vis the recently advertised assistant professor interview (22 January, 2026; No PSC-R(B)/01/2025).
- One-Time relaxation for correction of application form
On behalf of many aspiring candidates appearing for the assistant professor recruitment process, I sincerely appreciate the commission’s initiative in providing an opportunity to rectify errors committed during the submission of the interview application forms. Such a step reflects the commission’s commitment to fairness and transparency.
However, due to unavoidable circumstances, including lack of internet, no mobile network connectivity in remote areas, and technical issues from the commission itself (APPSC), several candidates like me could not access the notification within the stipulated time period and consequently missed the opportunity to make necessary corrections on the deficit academic documents that were sought by the APPSC.
Therefore, I most respectfully and humbly request the APPSC to consider granting a one-time additional correction window or relaxation facility to enable candidates to rectify genuine inadvertent errors and update essential information before the final scrutiny of the applications.
- Consideration of teaching experience certificate
I respectfully submit that I am deeply concerned that no marks have been awarded to numerous candidates who have many years of teaching experience. The commission may kindly take into consideration that prior to the implementation of the revised UGC pay scale in 2018, the entry-level UGC pay scale (Academic Level-10 under the 6th Pay Commission) for assistant professors was Rs 15,600-39,100, with applicable academic grade pay. It was only after the implementation of the revised UGC regulations and pay matrix that the minimum basic pay for assistant professors under Academic Level-10 under the 7th Pay Commission revisions was enhanced to Rs 57,700-1,82,400 wef 2018. Thus, teaching experience marks must be awarded to those candidates who have produced teaching experience certificate from before 1 January, 2016, at the pay scale level of Rs 15,600-39,100, with the applicable AGP, under the UGC guidelines.
I sincerely hope that the commission will consider this representation sympathetically and take an appropriate decision in the larger interest of the unemployed students’ community based on an inclusive and merit-based selection process, as amplified by NEP 2020.
