NAHARLAGUN, 30 Jul: The Arunachal ShikshaVikas Samiti (ASVS) in Pachin Colony here organised a 10-day teachers’ training camp for newly appointed teachers from Vidya Niketans, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, EMRS Khela, and ekal vidyalayas (single-teacher schools) from Vijaynagar and from Longding district under the ASVS from 19-29 July.

“A total of 12 district headquarters participated in the training, with 54 sessions conducted during the 10-day programme,” the ASVS informed in a release.

The sessions were led by resource persons from various government departments working in the field of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, professors from Rajiv Gandhi University, social workers, and other experts.

The training focused on strengthening professional knowledge, teaching skills, child-centric education and overall capacity of the newly appointed teachers.

The valedictory function was attended by Padma Shri awardee and retired architect Techi Gubin, along with APSCPCR Vice President Niri Chongrowju, ASVS secretary Tumge Lollen, ASVS joint secretary Gyamar Kassung, and others.

Gubin shared his experiences from the early part of his career as a teacher before joining government service. He spoke about the importance of education, and appreciated the structured approach of NEP 2020. He expressed happiness over the growing participation of various government departments and NGOs working in different fields for the development and progress of Arunachal Pradesh.

Highlighting the challenges faced by Arunachal, he spoke about migration and its impact on rural villages, including the functioning and sustainability of schools in remote areas. He congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the training.

Chongrowju spoke about child protection, child rights, and relevant laws and provisions, sensitising the participants to their responsibilities towards the safety, dignity and well-being of children.

Lollen expressed gratitude to all the resource persons, guests, organisers and participants for their active participation and for making the 10-day teachers’ training “a smooth and successful programme.”

The training concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening quality education and preparing teachers to effectively serve children in both urban and remote areas of Arunachal.
