NAHARLAGUN, 17 May: The Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS) organised a ‘Sanskrit teachers’ training programme’ in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati from 11-17 May at the ASVS training centre in Pachin Colony here.

The weeklong intensive training programme witnessed the participation of Sanskrit and Hindi subject teachers, head teachers, and educators from both government and private schools from different states. Teachers from ASVS-run Vidya Niketans, EMRS institutions, and reputed private schools, including Little Star School and Vidya Sagar Academy, participated in the programme.

Among the distinguished participants was Government Secondary School Pachin Headmistress Nang Ekathani Mounglang.

Resource persons, including professors, guest faculty members, and research scholars from Rajiv Gandhi University and Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University guided and trained the participants throughout the programme.

The sessions focused on strengthening Sanskrit teaching methodologies, language skills, cultural values, and educational practices aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The ASVS reiterated its commitment towards effective implementation of NEP 2020, especially in view of the new CBSE guidelines making the study of languages mandatory for Classes 9 and 10 from the academic session 2026-27.

The valedictory programme was held on Sunday at Abotani Vidya Niketan. During the concluding session, ASVS secretary Tumge Lollen encouraged the trained teachers to dedicate themselves towards the promotion and preservation of Sanskrit language and India’s rich cultural heritage.

Following the completion of the training, the ASVS also appointed trained Sanskrit teachers in its Vidya Niketan institutions across Arunachal Pradesh to strengthen Sanskrit education in the state.
