GIPULIN, 21 Aug: In a step towards promoting sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture, the Dibang Valley Agriculture Department organised an awareness generation and orientation programme on natural farming at the Gipulin cluster under the supervision of ADO Duyu Udi on Friday.

The programme was attended by ZPM Eta Mihu, GP leaders from Gipulin, Angrim valley, Aliney, Mihundo and Etabe, along with farmers and SHG members.

Dibang Valley KVK agroforestry expert Neelam Sunny sensitised the participants to the principles and benefits of natural farming, with focus on indigenous bio-inputs such as beejamrit and jeevamrit for improving soil health and reducing dependence on external inputs.

To further support the adoption of natural farming, a need-based Bhartiya prakritik bio-input resource centre (BRC) will be established under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF). The centre will facilitate local production and supply of bio-inputs, particularly benefiting farmers who may not be able to prepare them individually.

The initiative marks a step towards healthier soils, resilient farms and sustainable livelihoods, strengthening the vision of a greener agricultural future for Dibang Valley. (DIPRO)
