MIPI, 23 Aug: More than 50 farmers participated in an awareness generation and orientation programme on natural farming, organised here by the Dibang Valley Agriculture Department on Sunday.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of Anini ADO Duyu Udi, and was attended by ZPM Siyo Miwu, Mipi CO Anmol Singh, GPC Dumpi Mega, farmers, and members of the local community.

Dibang Valley KVK agroforestry expert Neelam Sunny sensitised the farmers to the principles and practical benefits of natural farming. He highlighted the use of indigenous bio-inputs such as beejamrit and jeevamrit for improving soil health, reducing dependence on external inputs, and promoting sustainable cultivation.

The participants were encouraged to adopt locally suitable, eco-friendly and climate-resilient farming practices. The speakers highlighted the potential of natural farming to reduce input costs, strengthen farm resilience and contribute to sustainable livelihoods in Dibang Valley.

The programme reaffirmed the Agriculture Department's commitment to promoting healthy soils, sustainable agriculture, and environmentally responsible farming practices across the district. (DIPRO)
