PASIGHAT, 27 Aug: The performance of banks and the implementation of various government-sponsored schemes in East Siang district in the financial year 2026-27 were reviewed during a District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting for the quarter ended June, held here on Thursday.
Discussions were held on the credit deposit ratio(CDR), which stood at 39.10 per cent as on the quarter ended June, besides credit flow under agriculture, MSME, priority and non-priority sectors, PMEGP, KCC, PMMY, SHGs, and social security schemes.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the flagship programmes of the state government, including Atmanirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY), Atmanirbhar Bagwani Yojana (ANBY), AtmanirbharPlantation Yojana (ANPY), Atmanirbhar Matsyapalan Yojana (ANMPY), Atmanirbhar Pashupalan Yojana (ANPPY) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY).
The Industries Department highlighted issues relating to PMFME and PMEGP, including portal-related difficulties and pending beneficiary cases.
The meeting further discussed employment generation, promotion of micro food processing enterprises, and timely disposal of applications under the DDUSY. It was decided that applicants failing to meet queries or requirements should be appropriately rejected, so that eligible candidates from the waiting list can be considered.
The DDSE requested banks to facilitate the opening of bank accounts for minors to ensure better financial inclusion.
Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani commended the banks for their performance in releasing funds to eligible beneficiaries under agriculture-related schemes, particularly the ANKY and the ANPY.
She stressed the need for timely disposal of pending applications and effective coordination between banks and line departments to ensure that beneficiaries receive assistance without unnecessary delays.
The DC expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of some branch managers from important inter-departmental meetings, and stressed that all banks and departments concerned must ensure active participation and coordination in such review meetings. (DIPRO)
