ZIRO/YACHULI, 7 Sep: A voluntary blood donation camp and a comprehensive health screening drive were conducted at the primary health centre (PHC) in Yachuli on Monday for the local police personnel.
The drive was an initiative of the blood centre of Gyati Takka Zonal General Hospital, Ziro, in collaboration with the Yachuli PHC and the Keyi Panyor district police, and drew strong participation of officers dedicated to supporting community healthcare needs.
The event combined blood donation with preventive health check-ups, including evaluations of haemoglobin levels, blood pressure, pulse rate, random blood sugar, and blood grouping.
Medical staff identified four cases of hyperglycaemia, three cases of anaemia, two cases of low blood pressure, and one case of hypertension. All affected personnel received immediate medical counselling, prescribed treatment, and official referrals for necessary follow-up care at higher medical centres.
Key medical arrangements were managed by PHC MO Dr Tana Tath, alongside Keyi Panyor DMO Dr B Natung.
The leadership of SP Keni Bagra and DSP Hage Nado proved instrumental in mobilising police personnel to participate in the drive, which yielded a total of 14 blood units, comprising six units of O+, five units of B+, and three units of A+.
Health officials highlighted that voluntary donations remain vital for keeping local blood banks stocked for emergencies in remote districts, while regular check-ups safeguard the fitness of frontline officers. (DIPRO)
