ITANAGAR, 23 Oct: Boje Marbom, who was a member the Indian blind football team at the 5th Asian Para Games 2026 held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, was accorded a warm reception by the Paralympic Association of Arunachal upon his return from the Games here on Friday.
The reception was organised to honour his participation in the prestigious sporting event and recognise his dedication to sports.
"His participation is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and an inspiration to aspiring para-athletes across the state," the Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) said.
The PAA reiterated that para-athletes from Arunachal possess immense potential to win medals for the state and the nation if provided with adequate training facilities, professional coaching, financial assistance and equal opportunities.
The PAA thanked the state government, particularly the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, for their continued support, encouragement and commitment towards the development of para-sports and the welfare of para-athletes.
"This support is instrumental in nurturing sporting talent and enabling athletes with disabilities to compete at national and international levels," the association said.
