ANINI, 16 Oct: The Biodiversity and Tourism Management Society (BTMS) here in Dibang Valley district undertook repair and maintenance work along the Pomo trekking trail, restoring 17 critical sections to enhance trekkers' safety and accessibility amid the trail's growing popularity as a premier adventure destination in Dibang Valley.

The maintenance team, led by BTMS chairman Theko Tayu, along with District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran, and BTMS members Ganga Mili, Bachan Mipi, Inju Mimi, Niba Tacho, Londo Tayu, Robin Umpey and Pahi Mili, repaired, reconstructed and restored 17 critical sections of the trekking trail, addressing obstacles that had made certain stretches difficult and uncomfortable for trekkers.

Although the trail is relatively moderate in difficulty, exposed roots, uneven surfaces and 'ram-rob' along certain sections had made the journey physically demanding, particularly for trekkers navigating the terrain in gumboots.

The restoration work focused on improving trail conditions, minimising potential hazards and ensuring a safer and more comfortable trekking experience.

The Pomo trek has witnessed its highest tourist footfall this year, emerging as one of the most sought-after trekking destinations in Dibang Valley. (DIPRO)
