ZIRO, 7 Aug: To ensure smooth, accurate, and hassle-free data collection for the upcoming District Census Hand Book (DCHB), Census-2027, a training session for field functionaries and census charge officers was held here in Lower Subansiri district on Friday.
The programme was organised following an official directive from Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Oli Perme.
James L, SI-II, Directorate of Census Operations, Shillong, served as the main resource person for the programme. Marking his third visit to Lower Subansiri to oversee census preparation, James walked officers step-by-step through the core aspects of DCHB fieldwork. Drawing from ground-level insights, he emphasised the importance of precision in data entry and shared practical approaches to navigate field challenges effectively.
Addressing the gathering, Assistant Director of Economics & Statistics Chiging Tamu reflected on the experiences gathered during the initial phase of the census work. He reassured field officers that ongoing mobile application issues and technical bugs are being actively addressed, with technical assistants on standby to resolve any glitches without delay.
He urged all participants to stay attentive and make the most of the interactive setup.
The training wrapped up with an engaging Q&A session, giving field staff and charge officers a direct platform to clarify operational doubts with James and the technical team before heading out into the field.(DIPRO)
