TAWANG, 10 Aug: As part of the preparations for Census 2027, the state Directorate of Census Operations organised a district-level training programme on the District Census Handbook (DCHB) 2027 here on Monday.
The training programme was conducted by Census Deputy Director Phiralin Passah and census operations junior consultant Daniel Jones, who imparted detailed training to the field functionaries on various aspects related to the preparation of the DCHB.
The resource persons familiarised the participants with the procedures, responsibilities and requirements involved in the systematic compilation of district-level information, while underlining the need for accuracy and consistency at every stage of the exercise.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Tenzin Jambey urged the field functionaries to remain attentive throughout the training and make full use of the opportunity to clarify their doubts with the resource persons.
Highlighting the importance and sensitive nature of census work, he called upon all functionaries to discharge their responsibilities with utmost sincerity, accuracy and commitment. He emphasised that reliable census data forms the foundation for effective planning, informed policymaking and implementation of developmental programmes.
The programme provided a platform for strengthening the preparedness and capacity of the field functionaries ahead of Census 2027. The training is expected to contribute towards systematic, reliable and accurate compilation of demographic and socioeconomic information for the DCHB. (DIPRO)
