DAPORIJO, 29 Jun: Eight cattle and 13 goats found roaming unattended in public places and on roads within the township area here were caught and seized during a drive against stray animals by the Upper Subansiri district administration on Monday.

The animals were seized as their owners violated the notified restrictions against allowing domestic livestock to stray freely in public areas.

Action will be taken against the owners of the seized animals as per the law. The seized animals will be released only after completion of the legal formalities and payment of penalties.

The district administration said that similar drives will be conducted on a regular basis, and that stricter action will be initiated against habitual violators.

All livestock owners have been requested to cooperate with the administration in maintaining public order, cleanliness, and road safety. (DIPRO)
