ANINI, 19 Jul: Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Bekir Nyorak conducted a two-day inspection tour across Arzoo, Mipi and Anini circles on 18 and 19 July to review the progress of key infrastructure and development projects in the district.
On 18 July, accompanied by district officials, the DC inspected the Roing-Hunli road project under SARDP-NE, being executed by M/s DRA-ITL (JV) under the NHIDCL. Expressing concern over delays, he directed the NHIDCL and the contractor to accelerate construction by deploying adequate manpower and machinery.
Describing the project as strategically significant, the DC said that the road would improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of heavy machinery for major infrastructure projects, including the Etalin and Athunli hydroelectric projects, besides strengthening access to the border areas. NHIDCL officials informed that the project has achieved 82.32% physical progress and is expected to be trafficable for light motor vehicles by October.
The deputy commissioner also visited the proposed site for the SDO headquarters in Arzoo. He directed the land management branch to conduct a preliminary survey and prepare a master plan to ensure that adequate land is available for future public infrastructure, including educational, healthcare, administrative, and security establishments.
On 19 July, the deputy commissioner inspected the ectourism resort projects in Gipulin, Emuli and Mipi under the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP-I). Stressing on quality and timely execution, he noted that these projects would boost sustainable tourism, create local employment, and strengthen the economy of the border villages. The implementing agencies informed that all projects are targeted for completion by August.
During the tour, the DC also inspected the health and wellness centre in Mipi, where he reviewed healthcare services and directed the departments concerned to address issues such as waterlogging, construction of a boundary wall, and improvement of the existing infrastructure on priority.
The inspection underscored the district administration’s commitment to ensuring timely completion of critical infrastructure projects and improving connectivity, tourism and public services across Dibang Valley. (DIPRO)
