ZIRO, 10 Aug: In a push towards rural prosperity and women's economic empowerment, the Lower Subansiri district administration held the first District Level Steering Committee (DLSC) meeting for the lakhpati didi initiative here on Monday.

The high-level gathering brought together key officials, department heads, and grassroots leaders to map out a clear path for uplifting local families.

Led by Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, the meeting focused on turning grand visions into practical, ground-level action. Rather than viewing the initiative as just another bureaucratic target, the committee approached it as a deeply human mission, dedicated to helping rural self-help group (SHG) households secure a sustainable annual income of at least Rs 1 lakh.

To make this a reality, the team zeroed in on breaking down traditional silos between government departments. The deputy commissioner urged officers of the agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry & veterinary, and rural development sectors to link arms with the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM). By combining resources and expertise, the district aims to give women entrepreneurs the comprehensive support they need, from farming and livestock training to financial guidance.

The meeting was attended by ZPC Hibu Dui, senior officials from the DRDA, block mission management teams, and community representatives from Hong, Hari, and surrounding areas. Together, they reviewed block-by-block progress reports, discussed real-world challenges on the ground, and identified high-performing potential lakhpati didis who deserve recognition and extra support.

As the meeting wrapped up, directives were issued to every department to submit updated status reports, and work hand-in-hand with the DMMU to keep the momentum going. (DIPRO)
