ZIRO, 10 Jul: The governing council of the Lower Subansiri District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) met here on Friday to review and approve a robust agenda for development works aimed at fostering growth in mining-affected areas.
The meeting was chaired by the deputy commissioner and attended by key stakeholders, including Ziro-Hapoli MLA Hage Appa and heads of various departments.
The DMFT, a non-profit body established under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, continues to play a pivotal role in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY).
The council reaffirmed its commitment to transparent utilisation of funds to provide essential services to the public and improve local infrastructure.
During the session, the council finalised the approval of the DMFT 2026 work list, sanctioning projects totalling Rs 65 lakhs, which are to be executed primarily by the WRD, Ziro division.
The approved works include significant upgrades to the Padi Yubbe Outdoor Stadium, such as procurement of plastic gallery seats, painting, and electrification.
Furthermore, the council authorised the construction of community toilets in Subu Ago (Doginanii) and the establishment of a community toilet at Hill Top, Hapoli, following formal site realignment. Other approved projects include installation of cattle traps in Sikhebo and Hagio, Hari; construction of a siltation pit at Myolyang to manage local environmental needs; and targeted maintenance for classrooms and sanitation facilities at the UPS Sibe and the UPS Pare Ami.
In addition to these major infrastructure initiatives, the council approved immediate procurement needs of district offices and local institutions, including critical repairs to government UPS systems, new computer systems, and inverter backups, ensuring that administrative and educational facilities remain operational and efficient.
The meeting concluded with a collective call for timely and quality execution of all approved projects, underscoring the district’s dedication to fulfilling the objectives of the DMFT and the PMKKKY scheme.(DIPRO)
