KHONSA, 15 May: The Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (DoTCL) held a comprehensive review meeting with various line departments, including the Rural Works Department (RWD), Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering & Water Supply (PHE&WS) Department, Horticulture Department, Agriculture Department, and Rural Development (RD) Department here on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by DoTCL Secretary Wayong Khimhun, in the presence of Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran, Khonsa ADC Namneet Singh, DoTCL Deputy Director Wangton Lowang, and DoTCL Assistant Director Montu Mossang, along with officers from the departments concerned.
During the meeting, the line departments presented the status of their ongoing schemes and projects. Detailed discussions were held regarding the progress, implementation and impact of various developmental activities being undertaken across different locations under the DoTCL.
The officials also carried out inspection of ongoing projects to assess ground-level implementation and ensure effective execution of schemes. Special emphasis was laid on impactful and sustainable investments aimed at improving public welfare and socioeconomic development in the region.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of conducting awareness programmes against drug addiction and substance abuse among youths and local communities. Departments were encouraged to take coordinated initiatives to create awareness and strengthen preventive measures.
During the deliberations, suggestions were also made to promote cluster farming in villages to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure better utilisation of resources. The importance of special assistance under the SASCI and proper planning in sectors such as education and development was discussed extensively.
All departments concerned were instructed to ensure proper coordination and accountability to avoid duplication of schemes and projects. The departments were advised to maintain transparency, effective monitoring, and responsible implementation for the overall benefit of the people.
During the meeting, all departments resolved to work in close coordination for accelerating developmental activities and ensuring efficient delivery of public services in Tirap district. (DIPRO)
