He highlighted the need for effective reforms based on a clear understanding of existing issues and urged stakeholders to adopt a people-centric, inclusive, and empathetic approach. Drawing from his long public service, the governor said that strong institutions are built through their ability to learn, adapt, and continuously improve.

The statement has come at a time when millions of Indians have been affected by changes in the electoral roll, which has drawn extensive discussion and criticism from citizens. Even in Arunachal, many people with mismatched documents will be affected. Therefore, it is essential for the Election Commission to look into the details and make the necessary corrections, so that it does not result in mass deletions, as it happened in Bihar and other states.
