NIRJULI, 3 Aug: The AICTE-approved eight-day faculty development programme (FDP) on universal human values (UHV), organised by the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) concluded here on Monday.

The programme was organised with the objective of strengthening value-based education and promoting the integration of UHV into higher education. A total of 38 participants registered for the FDP, including participants from Himalayan University, Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic, and the NERIST.

Addressing the valedictory function, UHV Cell coordinator Dr Akbari Jahan highlighted the successful completion of the eight-day programme and expressed gratitude to the AICTE, the resource persons, the institute administration, and all the participants for their support and active engagement.

The participants shared their experiences and reflections, describing the FDP as an enriching learning experience that enhanced their understanding of UHV and their relevance in higher education.

In his valedictory address, NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S underscored the need to combine technical excellence with ethical responsibility, mutual respect, and concern for society. He encouraged the participants to promote the principles of UHV in their teaching and institutional practices.
