Editor,

We, the aspiring candidates preparing for the upcoming trained graduate teacher (TGT) examination scheduled for 12 July, would like to place our grievance before the Secondary Education Department regarding the recent advertisements issued by various government secondary schools for the engagement of guest teachers.

The issuance of these advertisements clearly indicates the existence of more teacher vacancies in government schools than what has been advertised through the APPSC. If such vacancies are available, we respectfully request the department to forward them to the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for regular recruitment, rather than filling them through temporary guest teacher engagement.

Recruitment through the APPSC ensures a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process. It also provides stability to the education system by appointing qualified teachers on a regular basis. While guest teacher engagement may serve as a temporary arrangement, it should not replace regular recruitment when vacancies already exist.

As the TGT examination is approaching, we earnestly request the department to assess all existing vacancies and forward all eligible vacant posts to the APPSC for regular recruitment. Ensure that deserving and qualified candidates are given an opportunity to compete through the established recruitment process, and minimise reliance on temporary guest teacher engagement where regular vacancies exist.

We believe that filling vacancies through the APPSC will not only uphold the principles of transparency and fairness but also contribute to strengthening the quality of education in Arunachal Pradesh.

We sincerely hope that the department will consider this representation and take necessary action in the interest of both aspiring teachers and the students of the state.
