NEW DELHI, 26 Aug: Gallery Vayu, a curatorial initiative by Vayu: Design for Living, presents Ngok Dolu (My Village), an ongoing body of work by multidisciplinary artist Jenjum Gadi. The exhibition reflects on the landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh that shaped Gadi's childhood, previewing on 10th September. Ngok Dolu will continue to be on view until 30th September at Gallery Vayu, Lodhi Road.

Growing up in a small self-sustaining village surrounded by bamboo and thatch homes, cultivated fields, forests, rivers and orchards, Gadi's understanding of place is closely tied to the patterns of everyday life. Ngok Dolu draws on memories of architecture, agriculture, weather, craft traditions and village life, considering what remains with us as the physical landscapes around us continue to change.

Working primarily in brass, Gadi transforms remembered forms into sculptural objects that move between observation, recollection, and imagination. His practice draws attention to the quiet beauty of simple and familiar forms and everyday objects that make up the fabric of village life.  Recurring cloud forms appear as quiet witnesses to a landscape in constant motion, reflecting on the relationship between memory, time and place. Rather than attempting to reconstruct the past, the exhibition considers what we inherit from the landscapes that shape us, and what endures when those landscapes change.

Gadi's practice draws from personal histories, cultural traditions, and the natural world, transforming familiar forms into vessels for storytelling. Following his solo debut at Bikaner House, his works have also been presented at Jodhpur Art Week and Art Mumbai.
