AALO, 19 Jun: The superintendent of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) & Central Excise, Pasighat Range, in collaboration with the superintendent of the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), Aalo, organised a two-day GST awareness programme at the DC’s conference hall here in West Siang district on 18 and 19 June.

The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing awareness among taxpayers, traders, business establishments, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders regarding the provisions, compliance requirements, and recent developments under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

The event witnessed the participation of taxpayers, members of the trade and business community, entrepreneurs, and government officials from Aalo and adjoining areas.

Officers from CGST & Central Excise, Pasighat Range, and SGST Aalo delivered comprehensive presentations covering key aspects of the GST, including registration procedures, return filing, input tax credit, e-invoicing, compliance obligations, and recent amendments to GST laws and regulations.

Interactive sessions formed an integral part of the programme, providing participants with an opportunity to raise queries and seek clarifications on various GST-related issues. The resource persons addressed the concerns of the participants and offered practical guidance to facilitate timely and accurate compliance with GST provisions.

The outreach initiative underscored the government’s commitment to taxpayer facilitation, voluntary compliance, and strengthening tax administration through continuous engagement with stakeholders. The participants appreciated the initiative and noted that such awareness programmes play a significant role in improving understanding of the GST provisions and addressing practical challenges faced by taxpayers.
