ITANAGAR, 2 Aug: Governor KT Parnaik has complimented January Tali and Hachu Lombo on their remarkable achievement of successfully summiting Mt Kun (7,077 metres) in the Zanskar region of Ladakh.
Describing their feat as a moment of immense pride for the state, the governor said that the two mountaineers have etched their names in history by becoming the first women from Arunachal Pradesh to conquer the challenging peak.
He noted that Mt Kun, one of India’s most demanding high-altitude climbing destinations, tests climbers with its steep snow-covered slopes, treacherous glaciers, thin air, and unpredictable weather conditions.
“Their successful ascent reflects extraordinary courage, determination, endurance and mental strength,” he said.
The governor said that their achievement has brought laurels to Arunachal and inspired countless young people, especially women, to dream big and pursue excellence. He expressed confidence that their accomplishment would motivate Arunachali youth to embrace physical fitness, adventure sports and a spirit of perseverance. (Lok Bhavan)
