AALO, 22 May: Keyi Panyor, Siang, Papum Pare and Lower Siang reached the boy’s football semifinal of the state-level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy (HDMT).
Keyi Panyor and Siang entered into the last four beating Upper Siang and Longding by an equal 2-0 margins in the quarterfinals played on Friday.
Papum Pare beat Capital Complex by 5-3 in penalty shootout, while Lower Siang edged past Upper Subansiri 5-4, also through penalty shootout.
In the girls’ football quarterfinals, Shi-Yomi defeated Upper Subansiri 3-0 and Namsai beat Longding by 1-0 goal. Capital Complex beat West Siang 3-0 and East Kameng defeated Tawang 1-0 to book their places in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, the volleyball league stage matches were completed at the Siyom Army Ground.
In boys’ section, Papum Pare defeated Tirap 2-0, East Siang defeated Tawang 2-1, Anjaw defeated Lower Subansiri 2-0, and East Kameng secured a 2-0 victory against Shi-Yomi.
However, the scheduled matches between Namsai and Pakke-Kessang, as well as Bichom and Itanagar Capital, could not be conducted as both teams failed to report within the stipulated time.
In girls’ volleyball, Lohit defeated Upper Siang 2-0, Keyi Panyor beat Shi-Yomi 2-0, and Leparada beat Upper Subansiri 2-0. Tirap defeated Dibang Valley 2-0, and East Kameng beat Anjaw 2-0.
The scheduled match between Namsai and Pakke-Kessang could not be conducted as both teams failed to report for the fixture within the stipulated time.
The boys’ football semifinals will be played on 23 May at the main ground, while the girls’ football semifinals are scheduled for 24 May at Pakkam ground.
