PASIGHAT, 15 May: The Spearhead Gunners under the Spearhead Division opened a transit facility, ‘Ashiyana’, at the Sigar military station here in East Siang district to support the welfare of troops and operational preparedness, according to an Indian Army release.

The facility has been developed to provide a comfortable, efficient and mission-oriented transit halt for personnel operating in challenging operational environments. Equipped with essential amenities, Ashiyana aims to enhance convenience, morale and overall wellbeing of troops moving to and from forward locations, the release said.

Senior military officials present during the inauguration highlighted the importance of robust support infrastructure in enabling soldiers to perform their duties with greater efficiency and confidence in demanding terrain and weather conditions.

“The inauguration of Ashiyana stands as another step towards the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, dignity and operational preparedness of its personnel serving in remote and strategically important areas,” the release added. (DIPRO)
