LIKABALI, 23 Jul: SJETA Minister Kento Jini inspected the landslide-prone areas and road blockage points along the Akajan-Likabali-Bame road on Thursday to assess the condition of the affected stretches and review the ongoing restoration works.
During the inspection, the minister, accompanied by heads of departments and officials of the NHIDCL, examined the extent of damages caused by landslides and heavy rains. He appreciated Henli Riba and his team for their dedicated efforts in clearing road blockages and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity over the past several months despite challenging conditions.
Jini informed that emergency “disaster maintenance packages” would be made available to support the restoration and maintenance of the road.
He further assured that he would take up the matter with union minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu to expedite the implementation of the Bame-Akajan road as a strategic road project, as declared by the central government, considering its vital importance for regional connectivity and public welfare.
