TAWANG, 17 Jul: Tawang DC Namgyal Angmo said that the NABARD has immense potential to support the district across diverse sectors, and urged all departments and SHGs to actively leverage its expertise, technical guidance, and financial assistance for developmental initiatives.

Addressing the NABARD’s 45th foundation day celebration here on Friday, the DC encouraged all departments to engage closely with the NABARD and make optimum use of the institution’s programmes and resources for sustainable and inclusive development.

The DC also released the NABARD’s annual report on the occasion.

ADC Rinchin Leta acknowledged the bank’s significant contribution towards strengthening rural livelihoods and community empowerment.

NABARD District Development Manager for Tawang Keertika Kashyap provided an overview of the NABARD’s journey over the past 45 years and highlighted its transformative interventions in agriculture, rural infrastructure, financial inclusion, skill development, and livelihood promotion across the country.

During the interactive session, representatives from various government departments provided feedback and discussed potential areas where the NABARD’s support could further accelerate the socioeconomic development of Tawang district.

The deliberations focused on strengthening agriculture and allied sectors, promoting entrepreneurship, empowering SHGs, enhancing rural infrastructure, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Star anise saplings were distributed to SHG members under the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. (DIPRO)
