TAWANG, 24 May: The 2 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion NCC conducted its combined annual training camp (CATC)-19 from 14 to 23 May at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya here.

A total of 164 NCC cadets from Tawang and West Kameng districts participated in the 10-day camp, which was organised with the objective of developing discipline, leadership qualities, teamwork, and overall personality development among the cadets.

 During the camp, a series of informative and motivational lectures were delivered on topics such as biodiversity conservation, gender sensitivity, benefits of joining the NCC, and career opportunities in the Indian Army.

As part of the camp activities, the Yuva Aapda Mitra scheme training programme was also conducted by the State Disaster Response Force. A total of 95 SD/SW cadets participated in the programme.

During the training, cadets learned essential disaster response and basic life support skills, including CPR, bleeding control, splinting, search and rescue techniques, rappelling, and other first aid procedures. The training significantly enhanced the cadets’ preparedness and response capabilities during emergencies and disasters.

To further enhance awareness and interest among the cadets, a weapons display was organised, providing firsthand exposure to various weapons and military equipment.

Several competitions and activities, including drill competition, drawing competition, group discussions, and cultural events were conducted throughout the camp to encourage confidence, creativity, and team spirit among the participants.

The camp concluded with active participation of cadets and staff, reflecting the NCC’s continued commitment towards nation-building and youth development. (DIPRO)
