ITANAGAR, 23 Jul: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organisation (AAPYO) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the governor, seeking urgent review of the Patra Committee report dated 15 April, 2026, and demanded immediate framing of criminal chargesheets against two suspended NERIST officials – Mai Kuru Camder alias Mai Ranjit Camder, and Doge Kamduk.

The AAPYO also demanded that the suspension of the two officials be extended under Rule 3 (2) of the CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964, including Rule 3 (2) (i), Rule 3 (2) (ii), and Rule 3 (2) (iii), pending further disciplinary and legal proceedings.

The two officials, who were serving as registrar and assistant registrar at the NERIST, were suspended on 29 May by the disciplinary authority, the AAPYO stated in the memorandum.

The organisation in the memorandum stated that both officials were suspended on the grounds of being prima facie involved in offences of “moral turpitude,” including negligence of duty causing considerable loss to the government, desertion of duty, refusal or deliberate failure to carry out written orders of the superior officers,  wilful tampering and forgery of recruitment rules of the NERIST, corruption, misappropriation of public money, possession of disproportionate assets, and misuse of official powers.

They were also accused of using outside student and youth organisations to pelt stones and disrupt the NERIST administration and protest against its director on 20 June.

The organisation stated that the memorandum represents the collective voice of all stakeholders of the NERIST, including students, faculty members, research scholars, land donors, and the general public.
