ITANAGAR, 12 Jul: Recitation of self-composed poems, short stories, articles and translated poems, along with lively discussions on the presented materials marked the 153th monthly sitting of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society [APLS] held here on Sunday.
Dr Bompi Riba, Dr Moge Basar, Takhe Yasa, Takhe Yebyang, Yagyaj and Tarh Susana recited their self-composed poems in English and Hindi, while Inumoni Das Thongchi recited the poem of Dr Doyir Ete Taipodia’s poem ‘Lost Word’, which was translated to Assamese by her.
Yagyaj read out a short story titled ‘The Prize of the Faith’ based on the problems arising out of religious conversion that is taking place unchecked in India.
Wango Socia dwelt at length on the need for the preservation of language and culture in his article ‘The Preservation of Literature’.
