Editor,
My attention has been drawn on a viral video of my younger cousin brother Techi James Tara, president, Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF). The video is quite derogatory and degrading, aimed at me. This is an offence against me.
Matthew 10:34-39 features one of Jesus’ most challenging and counter-cultural teachings where he outlines the absolute devotion required to be his disciple. He warns that following him would result in “a sword” rather than peace, causing deep division, conflicts and quarrels even within one’s own family. Jesus warns that his arrival and the radical nature of the gospel will cause deep divisions. He means that choosing to follow him over family traditions (indigenous religion, culture and customary laws) will create severe friction and bloodshed turning households into battlegrounds, where even close relatives, brothers and sisters may become enemies. Jesus is preparing his disciples for the reality that a strong commitment to his teachings in Bible will disrupt the status quo (indigenous faith, culture and customary laws).
When one family member converts to Christianity and another rejects it, a natural ideological clash occurs, leading to physical clash and quarrels.
This has come true in my case. Techi James Tara belongs to our Techi clan. I have unflinching devotion to my sanatan dharma (indigenous faith) but Techi James Tara has converted to American Baptist Christianity. The conversion to Christianity has turned him into enemy against me.
On being awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award by the president of India, the followers of indigenous faith welcomed me in Itanagar. They garlanded me and chanted Bharat Mata Ki Jai. This devotion of followers of sanatan dharma has caused resentment among Christian converts, including Techi James Tara. The Christian converts felt stung.
The Christians linked to Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF), headed by Techi James Tara, spread canards that I was rewarded with the Padma Shroi chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ ‘Vande Mataram’ and declaring myself a Hindu. If that is so, I advise Techi James Tara and his cohorts of fanatic Christians to grab this opportunity and get this prestigious award by chanting Jai Shri Ram.
As per Article 25 of the Constitution of India, a person is free to ‘profess, practice and propagate’ his/her religion. However, the Supreme Court of India has ruled out that ‘propagation’ means spreading the tenets of a faith, not a fundamental right to actively convert others through fraud, force and money might. Conversion achieved through money received reportedly from the American deep state, open society foundations of George Soros and international church organisations like the World Council of Churches (WCC), Geneva, Baptist World Alliance (BWA), Virginia (USA), and from the Pope of the Vatican and Christian countries like the USA, UK, France and many others are an act of criminal offence and anti-national deed punishable under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Under the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order of 1950, individuals who convert to Christianity lose their Scheduled Caste (SC) status and corresponding statutory benefits (such as reservations). The Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld this. The janjati communities of India are agitated against Christian conversion, fraudulent or through any form. A mass-movement has been going on at the national level from Kerala to Kashmir and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, including all the eight states of NE region for the last one year in different phases in different states, demanding the ‘delisting’ of those janjatis from the Scheduled Caste list who have converted to Christianity or Islam.
This mass movement culminated into a large congregation, ‘Janjati Sanskritik Samagam’ at Lal Qila, Delhi on 24 May, 2026. This was addressed by our popular Union Home Minister Amit Shahji. He said that religious shift causes ‘demographic change’, posing danger to peace and harmony, and culminating in anti-national movements. The change in demography caused by religious shifts to foreign faith poses dangers to cultural and religious identity of janjati brothers which is intolerable. A total of 2,715 delegates (largest in the country) from Arunachal boarded three special trains from Naharlagun and reached Delhi to raise their voice against Christian and Islamic conversion in any form, willing or forced.
Our anti-conversion stance was well received in the country’s capital. We chanted Jai Shri Ram, Aturdo Ane Donyi, Jai Buddha, Jai Rangfra, Bharat Mata Ki JKai and Vande Mataram.
We did so because we are committed Indians. We love our nation India, we revere Bharat Mata, Lord Ram is our national hero because we belong to the same stock of people. Our way of worship is different but our nationality is Bharatiya, ie, Hindu. We are loyal to Bharatvarsh. With conversion to Christianity, the loyalty is shifted to their master countries like the USA and UK. Not only that, with conversion to Christianity, our own people start hating us as Techi James Tarah is doing to me.
As per the Constitution of India, any person domiciled in Bharatvarsh who is not a Muslim, a Christian, a Parsi or a Zoroastrian, falls under the category of Hindu. Hindu is an umbrella term which is not linked with a particular way of worship. Hindu is nationality of all Indians. That is how we are Hindus by nationality. Where is any scope for dispute? But Christians do not say so because their nationality is that of their sponsor countries like the US and UK.
In Arunachal, Christianity has marked almost to 50 per cent and in TCL region (Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts) bordering Nagaland, Christian conversion has reached up to 80 to 90 per cent where the National Liberation Front of Arunachal (NLFA), a Christian insurgent organisation, is active as church army.
It appears that ‘Arunachal for Jesus’ is in the making like ‘Nagaland for Christ’, ‘Manipur for Christ’ and ‘Mizoram for Christ’, culminating into ethnic cleansing of indigenous faith followers.
The Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) is hell bent and dead set to block the framing of rules of the APFRA 1978. The situation has reached the point of no return. Now or never. It is a do or die situation for us, the followers of sanatan dharm.
Techi James Tara, president of ACF, blames us of having association with RSS. To this I say that we not only have association with the RSS, but we are rather a proud and committed swayamsewaks of the RSS.
