BOMDILA, 16 Sep: Promoting responsible tourism, showcasing West Kameng's tourist destinations and enhancing tourism activities in the Rupa region were among the topics discussed during a coordination meeting held here in connection with the upcoming World Tourism Day celebration in the district, on Wednesday.

The World Tourism Day will be celebrated at Rupa under the theme "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism."

West Kameng DC Dilip Kumar, who chaired the meeting, called upon all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure the successful conduct of the celebration and to effectively showcase the rich tourism potential of the district. He also highlighted the significance of celebrating World Tourism Day at Rupa and elaborated on the background and objectives behind selecting the township as the venue.

The DC also emphasized the importance of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and said that awareness activities on both themes would be incorporated into the celebration with the active participation of PRI members, community-based organizations, and the general public.

Members of the Rupa Tourism Society also put forward various suggestions and proposals for making the celebration more engaging, meaningful, and successful.

West Kameng SP Dorjee Wangdi Thongon, Rupa ADC  Lobsang Tsetan, former minister D.K Thongdok, DTO Tracy Thongdok, HoDs, representatives of tourism societies and other stakeholders attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
