WESSANG, 15 Sep: A school safety awareness programme was organised on Tuesday at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) here in East Kameng district by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The programme focused on promoting disaster preparedness, safety awareness, emergency response, and evacuation procedures among students and school personnel.

The programme was attended by an SDRF team, Police and Fire Department personnel, principal of VKV, principal of KGBV, teachers, and volunteers.

The SDRF team conducted awareness sessions and practical demonstrations on safety measures and appropriate responses during emergencies and disasters.

The initiative highlighted the importance of preparedness, coordination, and timely response in ensuring the safety and resilience of educational institutions and the wider community. (DIPRO)
