PASIGHAT, 28 Jun: Students were sensitised to the ill effects of online gaming during an awareness programme held under ‘Sahakarita Utsav 2026’ at the GHSS in Borguli in East Siang district on Saturday.
Mebo BMMU cluster coordinator Tokmem Moyong conducted a session on the harmful effects of excessive online gaming, including addiction, poor academic performance, mental health issues, physical inactivity, and social isolation. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment.
District Cooperative Union chairman Malo Komut and vice chairman Lottek Pertin advised the students to use digital technology responsibly and balance online activities with academics, physical health and social life.
The students were also briefed on the Government of India’s advisory on online gaming and the importance of responsible digital use.
The programme concluded with a pledge against harmful online gaming, followed by a brief address by the school’s Principal Tani Pada.
The programme was organised by the assistant registrar of cooperative societies, Pasighat, and the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Mebo, in collaboration with the Monggu Ane Didum Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (DIPRO)
