TATO, 21 Aug: The newly established District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) market for fish, poultry and meat, aimed at providing a cleaner, more hygienic and organised space for vendors and consumers, was inaugurated here in Shi-Yomi district by ZPC Tanya Rinya on Friday.

The dedicated market will help organise meat, poultry and fish-related commercial activities within a designated space, thereby promoting better hygiene, sanitation, traffic management and public convenience.

In order to make the facility fully functional and accessible, supporting infrastructure has also been put in place, including concrete steps, water-line connectivity and dedicated parking space.

Deputy Commissioner Manjunath R, who was also present, highlighted the importance of developing infrastructure in a planned and need-based manner, keeping in view both the present requirements and the future growth of Tato.

"The operationalisation of facilities such as the DUDA market is part of a broader approach towards creating a town with better civic amenities, organised commercial activity and improved public spaces," the DC said.

The operationalisation of the market was facilitated through concerted efforts of the Department of Urban Development & Housing through the DUDA. (DIPR)
