ITANAGAR, 21 Jul: Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) president Larji Rigia was conferred the Bharat Samman Award 2026 during the National Leadership Conclave & Bharat Samman 2026 held in New Delhi on 19 July.

The Global Excellence Forum conferred the award on Rigia in recognition of his selfless service and outstanding contribution to society, particularly for the welfare and uplift of the Tagin community.

He was accorded a warm reception by the Tagin Welfare Society and the TCS upon his return from Delhi.

Speaking to the media during the reception programme, Rigia said that he had never worked for recognition or awards.

“I was never aware that the service I rendered to society would be acknowledged in this manner. It is encouraging to know that someone recognised my sacrifices and extended moral support. I sincerely thank everyone for this honour,” he said.

Rigia further said that much of the work done for society often remains unseen and unrecognised, but genuine service should always be driven by commitment, rather than by expectation of appreciation.

Members of both the organisations congratulated Rigia on receiving the award, calling it a matter of pride for the entire Tagin community and Arunachal Pradesh.
