BOMDILA, 10 Aug: Marking the nationwide celebration commemorating the 150 years of VandeMataram and under the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the West Kameng district administration, in collaboration with the Art & Culture Department, organised a 'tiranga bike ride' here on Monday.
The ride was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar.
The ride commenced from Kameng Club, and passed through the bypass road via Hawa More before covering the entire Bomdila market area and re-entering the township through the Bomdila welcome gate.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the bikers in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
He urged all participants and citizens to uphold the spirit of patriotism and actively observe the campaign, which is being celebrated from 9 to 17 August across the country.
Superintendent of Police Dorjee Wangdi Thongon, who also participated in the ride, said that the Tiranga bike ride served as a powerful medium to spread the message of patriotism and strengthen citizens' sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation.
Officials from various departments, students, public, and representatives of the BJP West Kameng unit participated in the ride, displaying the national flag and raising slogans throughout the rally.
A similar ride was held in Nafra in Bichom district on Monday.
The ride was flagged off by Bichom ADC Maryom Karlo, who led the participants in carrying the tricolour with pride and honour.
The ride commenced from the petrol pump in Khellong Colony, proceeded through Bichom Tinali (Longtin village), and culminated at the office of the deputy commissioner in Nafra.
In East Siang district, Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang flagged off a bike and cycle tiranga ride from the East Siang DC's office complex as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The ride witnessed enthusiastic participation of government employees and the general public to spread the message of patriotism and encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by PMC Chief Councillor Tagom Padung, PMC Deputy Chief Councillor Kamin Lego, and HoDs, among others. (DIPROs)
