ITANAGAR, 26 Jun: More than 30 trainees participated in a three-day vocational training programme on scientific poultry farming conducted by the Papum Pare KVK, which concluded on Friday.

During the inaugural session, KVK Head Dr Bangkeng Perme advised the participants to venture into poultry farming industry and not depend on supply from other states. Dr Perme also delivered a lecture on poultry feeding and type of feed for poultry.

Animal science expert Dr Tadung Taku delivered a lecture on biosecurity in poultry farming, and layer poultry management.

Farm manager Dr Nabam Gama gave a lecture on the types of poultry, housing, broiler chicken management, and various central and state government poultry schemes, and urged the trainee to take advantage of these schemes.

On the last day of training, the trainees were taken to the central poultry farm in Nirjuli, where assistant veterinarian Nabam Apang imparted knowledge on poultry farming and gave a practical demonstration for the benefit of the trainees.
