LIKABALI, 3 Aug: Zilla parishad members (ZPMs) of Lower Siang district called for prioritising local needs and ensuring that grassroots priorities are adequately incorporated into the Zilla Panchayat Development Plan (ZPDP) 2026.
Participating in the deliberation on the ZPDP 2026 at a meeting here on Monday, the ZPMs shared their views, suggestions and development priorities for their respective areas.
District Panchayat Development Officer Mokar Riba urged the ZPMs to maintain close coordination and regular interaction with line departments for effective planning and implementation of developmental activities.
He called for better coordination between panchayati raj institutions and line departments to address local needs and expedite development in the district.
The panchayat technical assistant delivered a presentation on the ZPDP 2026 planning process.
Representatives from various line departments also presented their respective development plans and proposed activities, explaining the priorities and initiatives planned for the district.
The meeting, chaired by Koyu ZPM Nyachi Koyu, was attended by all the ZPMs of the district, heads of departments of line departments, and panchayat officials. (DIPRO)
