AALO, 13 Aug: The first-ever District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting for the preparation and approval of the Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) and Zilla Parishad Development Plan (ZPDP) of West Siang district for the 2026-27 financial year was chaired by West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi here on Thursday.

Addressing the participants, ADC Mabi Taipodia Jini highlighted the importance of the DPC in ensuring coordinated, inclusive and need-based development planning at the grassroots level. She also briefed the house on the significance of VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) and its role in strengthening rural livelihoods and employment opportunities.

ZPC Nyali Bagra apprised the house of various developmental schemes and programmes, and appealed to all stakeholders to work collectively and ensure that the benefits of development reach every village and household of the district.

He further urged the ZPMs and member secretaries to provide proper guidance and support to the GPMs and GPCs in the preparation and implementation of development plans.

During the meeting, all member secretaries presented their respective proposals. After detailed deliberations, the schemes and proposals placed before the house were unanimously approved.

Addressing the gathering, the DC urged all panchayat leaders to work with greater coordination, transparency and commitment for the overall development and welfare of every village in West Siang. He also directed all technical departments to extend necessary technical guidance and support to the GPMs and other panchayati raj institutions wherever required to ensure proper planning and quality implementation of developmental works.

The meeting was attended by heads of departments, all ZPMs, officials, staffers of the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments and allied sectors, and panchayat technical assistants, among others.
