LIKABALI, 11 Aug: The Lower Siang District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting for finalisation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) and Zilla Parishad Development Plan (ZPDP) was held at the deputy commissioner's conference hall here on Tuesday.
Chairing the meeting, DC Gobi Nyicyor stressed the importance of need-based, inclusive and sustainable planning. He urged all stakeholders to ensure that the development plans adequately reflect the genuine needs and aspirations of people at the grassroots level.
DPDO Mokar Riba emphasised the importance of close coordination and convergence between the Panchayati Raj Department and line departments.
He called upon all departments concerned to work together in a coordinated manner for effective planning, implementation and better outcomes of development programmes.
During the meeting, the member secretaries concerned presented the GPDPs of their respective gram panchayats.
The committee deliberated on various development priorities, with emphasis on participatory planning, convergence of schemes, and effective utilisation of available resources to ensure balanced and inclusive development across the district.
The meeting also focused on finalising the ZPDP for Lower Siang district, incorporating the development priorities and requirements identified by the zilla parishad and the panchayati raj institutions.
The departments concerned and panchayati raj functionaries were also directed to undertake necessary follow-up action for the timely finalisation and effective implementation of the approved GPDPs and ZPDP.
ZPC Pakmo Koyu, all zilla parishad members, member secretaries, district planning officials, and HoDs concerned were present during the meeting. (DIPRO)
