ANINI, 25 Aug: Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena has directed all technical departments to provide timely technical guidance and necessary support to the gram panchayat members (GPMs) and other members of the panchayati raj institutions to facilitate proper planning and ensure quality implementation of developmental works.

Chairing a meeting of the District Planning Committee (DPC) here on Tuesday, the DC called upon all panchayati raj representatives to discharge their responsibilities with greater coordination, transparency and commitment towards the overall development and welfare of the people.

The meeting was held for preparation and approval of the Gram Panchayat Development Plans and Zilla Parishad Development Plan for the financial year 2026-27.

ZPC Sadhu Mihu apprised the committee of various developmental schemes and programmes, and called upon all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure that the benefits of development reach every village and household of the district. He also urged the ZPMs and member secretaries to extend necessary guidance and support to the GPMs and gram panchayat chairpersons in the preparation and implementation of development plans.

ADC Jally Umpo emphasised the importance of the DPC in promoting coordinated, inclusive and need-based development planning at the grassroots level.

During the meeting, member secretaries presented their proposals before the committee. After detailed deliberations, the schemes and proposals were unanimously approved.

The meeting was attended by HoDs, all ZPMs, and panchayati raj functionaries. (DIPRO)
