SEPPA, 8 Sep: The East Kameng District Planning Committee (DPC) approved the Panchayat Development Plans (PDPs) for the financial year 2026-27 during a meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairpersonship of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-DPC Chairperson Yashaswini B.

During the meeting, DPDO Laxmi Dodum delivered a presentation on the 16th Finance Commission and its relevance to grassroots development planning. This was followed by a presentation on the Zilla Panchayat Development Plan (ZPDP) 2026-27, covering the Own Source Revenue (OSR) Plan and the Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) Plan.

The respective member secretaries presented the Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) of their constituencies.

Following detailed deliberations on the proposed development priorities, convergence of resources and implementation strategies, the DPC approved the PDPs - 2026-27, with emphasis on need-based, participatory and outcome-oriented development at the grassroots level.

The ZPC, ZPMs, heads of departments, BDOs, member secretaries and panchayat technical assistants were present during the meeting. (DIPRO)
