ITANAGAR, 10 Jun: The Pakke Kessang District Unit of the All Arunachal Contractor Welfare Association (AACWA-PKDU) on Wednesday strongly urged the Pakke Kessang district administration to restore the dilapidated PSI NEC road connecting the Seijosa and Dissing Passo circles to the district headquarters within a week’s time.

The association unit said that it may resort to a democratic protest at the district headquarters if the authorities fail to address its genuine single-point demand within a week from the date of submission of the representation.

In a one-point representation submitted to the DC, the PKDU stated that the PSI NEC road has been blocked at several locations and has remained without any restoration work by the concerned public works department for the last one week, which is a matter of grave concern for all citizens of the district.

“Due to the non-clearance of the road, it has been causing immense hardship to the people of the two circles, particularly Seijosa and Dissing Passo. The people have to travel either via the Assam road through Itanagar or via the Assam road through Bhalukpung-Seppa to reach Lemmi headquarters for all kinds of official and other domestic work, which is again placing an additional burden on the citizens,” the association unit said, adding that financially weak people are unable to bear the cost of the to-and-fro journey.
