RONO HILLS, 12 Jun: The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s (ABDM) Arunachal Pradesh unit conducted awareness and on-the-spot ABHA ID registration drive during the inaugural function of the NSS annual special camp at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here on Friday.

An awareness programme on organ donation and drug de-addiction was also conducted concurrently.

The ABDM team sensitised the participants to the benefits of digital health initiatives, and facilitated on-the-spot Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID registration to promote digital health adoption.

 The participants were informed about the key features of the ABHA ID, including secure access to digital health records, scan & share services for faster hospital registration, and seamless access to healthcare services through India’s digital health ecosystem.

Resource persons Dr Dipu Lowang and Dr KM Lombi delivered lectures on organ donation and drug de-addiction, emphasising the importance of healthy lifestyles and informed healthcare choices among youths.

ABDM state nodal officer Dr Dusu Gambo encouraged the participants to create their ABHA health IDs and take advantage of the digital health services being made available under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

According to the organisers, the awareness and registration drive received an encouraging response from participants.

RGU VC Prof SK Nayak, Registrar Dr NT Rikam, faculty members, healthcare professionals, NSS programme officers, and students attended the programme.

The programme was organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association and the Indian Medical Association’s state branch, as part of the Doctors’ Day celebration, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) of RGU. It was held under the guidance of ABDM State Mission Director Anu Singh and led by Dr Gambo.

The ABDM is a flagship initiative of the Government of India under the National Health Authority, andaims to create an integrated digital health ecosystem. Through ABHA, the ABDM enables citizens to securely access and manage their health records and avail seamless healthcare services across the country.
