Editor,
The ongoing rationali-sation of teachers in the Education Department under the leadership of Education Minister PD Sona deserves appreciation.
Despite having adequate number of teachers in the state, many government schools continue to face shortage of subject-specific teachers, adversely affecting the quality of education. The introduction of an AI-based transfer and posting system is a progressive step that can help address this longstanding issue in a transparent and objective manner.
I appeal to all stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and the public, to extend their support and cooperation to ensure the success of this initiative. If implemented effectively, it can significantly improve equitable distribution of teachers across schools and enhance educational outcomes.
At the same time, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has undertaken several noteworthy reforms aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance. The establishment of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board, the restructuring of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission following past controversies, and reforms in various service cadres are notable examples.
The government has also made commendable efforts to ensure career progression and provide fair opportunities for sincere, dedicated, and hardworking state government employees. Such reforms not only boost employees’ morale but also encourage greater commitment and professionalism in public service.
The government may also consider extending the AI-based transfer and posting system to all departments, along with a policy of mandatory transfers and postings after every two years. Such measures would promote greater transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery across all departments. A transparent, technology-driven transfer policy, coupled with periodic transfers where administratively necessary could further strengthen efficiency, accountability, equitable career opportunities, and public service delivery across the state.
