ZIRO, 7 Oct: The fortnight-long  Angan Ki Utsav 2026-2027 campaign conducted by the office of the child development project officer (CDPO), Ziro-I ICDS Project under the department of women & child development, concluded on Tuesday.

Held across Lower Subansiri district from 25 September to 7 October, the outreach programme focused on bringing essential health services to families, improving maternal care awareness, and supporting early childhood nutrition in every neighborhood.

During the campaign, Anganwadi workers joined hands with local panchayats, healthcare personnel, schools, SHGs, and neighbourhood elders to highlight the importance of first six years of a child's life for long-term growth and learning.

Ground-level workers conducted interactive sessions to help families understand the vital first 1,000 days of early childhood, healthy home cooking, and how to access financial support through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

Departmental representatives from health and education joined local panchayat leaders and community members for practical demonstrations, including live recipe displays using locally sourced, nutrient-dense ingredients. To support families directly, team members distributed essential nutrition kits alongside practical guidance on child care and sanitation.

The fortnight-long campaign concluded with a ceremony honouring the dedicated frontline workers.

Certificates of appreciation under Poshan Abhiyaan 2026-27 were awarded to six Anganwadi workers recognizing their unwavering commitment and service to women and children. (DIPRO)
