ITANAGAR, 24 Jun: A joint training programme and coordinating conference of the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) concluded on Wednesday, aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational readiness along the borders in Arunachal Pradesh, a defence official said.

Defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said the exercise focused on strengthening synergy at the tactical level between the two forces operating in the high-altitude and difficult terrain of the state.

Designed to boost combat preparedness and operational coordination, the training focused on mission-specific tactical drills, mountain warfare, route familiarisation, and communication procedures.

Personnel from both forces also rehearsed operational contingencies, casualty evacuation, and joint response mechanisms in harsh terrain to refine coordinated capabilities essential for effective border management and frontier security, the official said.

He added that, “The exercise underscored the seamless integration between the Indian Army and the ITBP, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening their ability to operate together in demanding operational environments.”
