DOIMUKH, 2 Jul: Joining the nationwide rollout of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-G RAM G, Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday launched the scheme at a state-level jan sammelan-cum- launch event held at Tidgo village in Doimukh CD Block of Papum Pare district.
The state-level launch was officially declared by RD minister’s adviser Taniya Soki, in the presence of the Papum Pare ZPC, DC, senior officers from the Rural Development Directorate, general public, PRI leaders and beneficiaries.
In his address, Soki elaborated the objectives of VB-G RAM G, explaining its transition from MGNREGA in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He also highlighted the commitment of current government regarding transparency and accountability through technology-driven implementation.
While adapting to the new system the beneficiaries may face initial challenges, he said, and added that every reform would ultimately benefits the actual rural needy people.
RE Joint Director Chera Sanjiv highlighted the salient features of VB-G RAM G and briefed the participants on its key provisions. He also informed that the wage rate under the scheme has been enhanced to Rs 300 per day, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving rural livelihoods.
“The VB-G RAM G scheme provides a statutory entitlement of 125 days of guaranteed wage employment to the eligible households in place of erstwhile 100 days of employment in MGNREGA,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering emphasised on choosing works/assets which are need-based to ensure enhancement of livelihood opportunities, rural infrastructure development, sustainable asset creation and economic empowerment of rural households.
He also appealed to all stakeholders to work collectively towards successful implementation of the scheme in Papum Pare district.
Papum Pare ZPC Bamang Yayu in her speech requested officers to handhold and guide the PR leaders in the implementation of various schemes, including VB-G RAM G.
She stated also that the programme would not only guarantee employment opportunities but also contribute significantly to the creation of durable community assets and enhancement of the overall quality of life in rural areas.
RD Deputy Director Bengia Yakar also spoke.
The event was organised by the Department of Rural Development, GoAP, in collaboration with the district rural development office.
VB-G RAM G launched in Seppa
The East Kameng Rural Development (RD) Department also launched a jan sammelan on VB-GRAM G at the Abo Tani conference hall in Seppa on Thursday.
The programme was inaugurated and chaired by ZPC Pai Pizi Yangfo.
Addressing the gathering, RD Deputy Director Laxmi Dodum presented the aims and objectives of the VB-G RAM G, highlighting its focus on participatory planning, convergence of schemes, timely service delivery, transparency, and sustainable rural development.
The event witnessed the participation of ZPMs, BDOs, GPCs, GPMs, and officials and staff of the RD Department.
An interactive discussion was held on the objectives, implementation strategies, and field-level challenges, with PRI leaders and departmental officials expressing their support for the initiative and commitment towards its effective implementation in the district.
The ZPC in her address emphasised the need for stronger coordination between the RD Department and PRI leaders to ensure effective implementation of schemes and creation of quality community assets. She assured that issues arising during implementation would be taken up at the state level for necessary intervention.
In her concluding remarks, Laxmi Dodum urged all block development officers to work in close coordination with PRI representatives and ensure transparent and efficient implementation of the schemes at the grassroots. She expressed confidence that with collective efforts, East Kameng would emerge as a model district in the implementation of of the VB-G RAM G. (DIPROs)
